Aston Martin DB5

Aston Martin DB5Aston Martin DB5On Bond’s 50th Birthday I had the pleasure of trying to recreate Bonds iconic Aston Martin DB5 for a Bond mad 10yr old. This handcarved  vanilla cake went down a storm but there was a reluctance to cut it!

I tuned into my inner fairy to make this special cake for a very special little girl. This cake was full of flowers, fairies and edible little critters, a vanilla cake filled with buttercream and covered in fondant. Such a fun cake to make and enjoyed by Millie.

A lovely handcarved vanilla cake for a steam train enthusiast who had his 70th birthday. There are a few not so subtle references to the gentlemans age on the train. Can you spot them?

Cath Kidston inspired 40th birthday cake

Cath Kidston inspired pig cake

Cath Kidston inspired pig cakeThe brief I had for this cake was to design something special for a Cath Kidston, pig and nature loving lady. I think this hits the mark. The bottom tier was a vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and homemade strawberry jam whilst the top tier was a rich gluten free chocolate cake.

It was a pleasure to make and decorate a dozen chocolate cupcakes for Tony for his 60th birthday. A keen golfer it was fun to make and model the gold clubs, flags and tees.

Happy Birthday Tony.

Wedding Cake

Cath Kidston inspired wedding cake

Cath Kidston inspired wedding cakeWell I’ve been working on a wedding cake for a lovely couple, who wanted a non traditional, Cath Kidston inspired, vintage feel wedding cake for their garden party wedding reception. It was fun to work on and I hope you like the results. The top layer was a rich fruit cake with marzipan and fondant, whilst two layers of cake were vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and home made strawberry jam with a white chocolate ganache and fondant covering. The remaining layer was a rich moist chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and a dark chocolate ganache and fondant covering.
