This is a cake I’ve been dying to make for ages and just haven’t had right occasion for it. Well I’ve a hen do this weekend and were all off to a spa day so this seems like the perfect time to have a go at it! I hope you like it!
This was a fun cake to do for a surfer chick. A rich chocolate bottom tier decorated to represent the sea and the top layer a vanilla sponge with vanilla butter cream and homemade strawberry jam. Handmodelled figures sitting on the beach topped the cake off, complete with surf board.
I’ve been busy over the last week. The first cake was for a gentleman celebrating being 80 years young. The bottom layer was a rich chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and the top a light vanilla Madeira sponge with vanilla buttercream and homemade strawberry jam!
“Young at heart” is what I call this cake.

I was locked out of the kitchen today whilst the baking was going on, and I can see why now!
This little fellow was the decoration on a lovely chocolate birthday cake that was covered in Chocolate fondant icing.
